The Eligibility Facilitator Service (Enhanced E1) has been upgraded for 2007 to provide new functionality, more detailed information and explicit messaging to assist pharmacists and pharmacies with processing beneficiary prescriptions. These changes will equip pharmacists with more useful data and tools to better determine proper billing information.
The Eligibility Facilitator Service will continue to support the current version of the E1, called E1: 11/15/05. Please see Question 4 on the tip sheet for an important change to the E1: 11/15/05.
Please click here for tips on the new E1: 12/1/06.
The new E1:12/01/06 response format includes the following:
- Support for historical and future queries; Date of Service can be current date or up to 90 days in the future or past
-
More extensive Accepted (matched) Response information, including basic patient data, more detailed data about current Part D Plan, and dates of next future Part D Plan coverage (if known)
- More informative Rejected Response messaging, with four different reject codes and messages to provide better feedback to pharmacies to more precisely indicate reject (non-match) causes
